Abu Dhabi Grand Prix tickets now on sale

Motorsports fans may be rushing to book flights to Abu Dhabi today (April 28th), as tickets for the UAE Grand Prix have gone on sale.

Eager Formula 1 fans can get a 20 per cent discount on all tickets bought before May 31st for the penultimate race of the season, Emirates 24|7 reports.

Following the sell-out success of last year's event, tickets for the 2011 race, which will take place from November 11th to 13th, are expected to go quickly.

This year's Grand Prix coincides with the 40th anniversary of the UAE, with special celebrations being laid on as part of the National Day festivities.

Australian resort reports rare albino wallaroo sighting

An Australian holiday resort has reported sightings of three albino wallaroos, one of the rarest mammals in the country, giving animal lovers another reason to book flights to Australia.

Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa is home to a variety of indigenous species as it is situated in the corner of a 4,000-acre Blue Mountains nature reserve, but the latest spotting caused real excitement.

Joost Heymeijer, general manager of the resort, said: "We've had sightings of one mature albino wallaroo on the property since opening 18 months ago, but to have two more spotted on the property is incredibly rare and exciting."

Australian resort wins eco-friendly hotel award

A visa is mandatory for entering India.

Foreigners arriving on term multiple entry visas need to register with the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Officer. This process has to be completed within 14 days of arrival.

Overstayers have to pay a fine and can also be put on trial. They can also be detained and even deported later on.

Travellers leaving India cannot re-enter the country before two months unless they can produce adequate documentation by way of ticket booking evidence and an overall itinerary suggesting that they had visited some neighbouring country as tourists. Another clause states that visitors planning to get back to India before the two month period are required to visit the Indian Consulate or High Commission of the country they have travelled to. Flickerfest arrives at Tasmania's Hobart State Cinema

Australian short film festival, Flickerfest has arrived in Tasmania today (March 17th), as part of a national tour, making an ideal stop-off for film lovers planning on booking flights to Australia.

The Flickerfest International Short Film Festival, to give it its full title, is the country's premier event for short film fans and it has been officially recognised as a qualifying event for the Best Short film and Best Animation Oscars.

This year's festival started on January 7th at Sydney's Bondi Beach Pavilion and is in the middle of a two-month nationwide tour, which ends in the capital of Canberra on March 27th.

South African Airways announces partnership with JetBlue Airways

South African Airways (SAS) has developed an extended partnership with JetBlue Airways to increase options for those taking flights to South Africa and the US.

The new deal means that SAS will now code share on services on JetBlue flights to 20 cities across the US including New York and Washington.

"Customer response to the interline service between South African Airways and JetBlue has been overwhelmingly positive on both sides of the Atlantic. They appreciate the ease with which they can connect between these two award-winning airlines," explained Marc Cavaliere, executive vice president, North America, for SAS.

New flights introduced by Air India Express

Air India Express is set to add two new flighas pats to India rt of its ongoing route expansion.

The airline will introduce a new weekly flight to Mangalore from Abu Dhabi as well as another weekly service between Amritsar and Abu Dhabi.

Adding the new services means that Air India Express will now offer travellers 32 weekly flights to India from Abu Dhabi International Airport (ADAC).

Ahmed Al Haddabi, senior vice- president of Airports Operations at ADAC, explained the new services were a reaction to growing demand.

He added: "We are delighted to see that our airline partners are expanding their services to meet our passengers growing demand.
